Arguably the top defender in college football as a true freshman, Downs is the type of player that can make a good defense elite. Nearly picking off JJ McCarthy on the first play of the Rose Bowl, Down, a former five-star top 10 recruit in the 2023 class, picked Alabama over Ohio State. If he does decide to enter the portal, which he has not, he would be a major, major target for every program in the country.
