A College Station Furniture store named Ashley’s Furniture owes it’s customers quite a chunk of change after Texas A&M throttled South Carolina. The store had a promotion from August 16th-August 27th saying that it would cover the costs of any furniture purchased in that time period if Texas A&M beat South Carolina by 10 points or more. The Aggies were 10-point underdogs but destroyed the Gamecocks 52-28.
Store Owner Mark Wilks told ESPN that 600 people bought furniture during the time period for a total of $1 Million, with one customer buying $20,000 worth. Fortunately for Wilks, the store took out insurance to cover the debt and they just owe 15% of what insurance is paying. I would advise the store not to do this again.
