Marquette’s last second layup holds off Davidson’s upset bid

With two minutes to go in the game, it looked like things were all but over for Marquette.  Then the Golden Eagles hit three consecutive three-pointers and climbed back in it.  With less than 10 seconds left in the game and up a point, Davidson threw the ball away as Nik Cochran stepped out of bounds trying to keep the ball in play (GIF below).  With 6.7 seconds left, Marquette put the ball in Vander Blue’s hands. Blue drove to the basket with ease and finished this left-handed layup with one second left.  Davidson had one second left but they threw away the inbounds pass.  Marquette’s miraculous comeback held off the No. 14 seed Davidson in what likely would have been the biggest upset of the day.
