CBS Won’t Stop Showing Crying Young Kansas Fan

Kansas fell to Stanford in another NCAA Tournament upset, 60-57. During the end of the game, CBS’ cameras repeatedly found a young KU fan shedding some tears in the stands. They showed this same fan six times during the course of the game (even again during the highlight package).

When Kansas made a run with less than a minute, CBS again showed the kid, this time without the tears.

CBS continually showed the crying fan presumably trying to exploit the viewers sympathy. Once would have been enough but continually panning to the kid at every opportunity was in bad taste.

Update: Looks like the kid is the son of Kansas’ Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations, Chris Theisen.
