Louisville Sophomore Montrezl Harrell, a Potential Lottery Pick, Will Return to School

Louisville sophomore PF Montrezl Harrell is returning to school for his junior year. The man they call Monstatrezz, rightfully so, is a flat out beast; he averaged 14 PPG and 8.4 RPG this season, up from just 5.7 and 3.6 last year. This is huge for the Cardinals and Rick Pitino, who would have only had one viable big man in Mangok Mathiang with Stephen Van Treese graduating.

Harrell was one of the more underrated prospects for the 2014 NBA Draft and was probably would’ve went somewhere between picks 15-20. He’s ready for the NBA now, but I like this decision as one more year in school never hurt anybody (except for Marcus Smart and James Michael McAdoo).
