49ers QB Alex Smith Reportedly traded to a mystery team

It seems as though the San Francisco 49ers have a hand-shake agreement with a mystery team that would send QB Alex Smith out of the Bay Area according to CBS’ Jason La Confora.

The 49ers are no longer discussing him, and it appears that once the season officially starts on March, 12th he will be gone for good.  You have to wonder if Alex Smith even knows which team he’s been traded to, and fans of teams in need of a quarterback can wonder if it was their beloved team that decided to pull the trigger on him.  If I had to guess, I would say it was Jacksonville that snagged the No.1 pick in the 2005 draft.

However, Jaguars GM Dave Caldwell said that Smith wasn’t getting traded to Jacksonville according to Florida Times beat writer Ryan O’Halloran.  The Kansas City Chiefs and new head coach Andy Reid seem like another team that would be intrigued with acquiring Smith, but they also may be targeting Nick Foles from Philadelphia.
