Texas High School Senior Matt Poursoltani Bench Presses 700 Pounds

Texas High School senior Matt Poursoltani showed off his weightlifting skills on Saturday when he proceeded to bench press 700 pounds.  The NFL record is held by former left tackle Larry Allen, who benched 705 pounds while weighing 305 pounds.  Poursoltani managed to bench 700 pounds while weighing only 270 pounds and being merely a senior in High School.  This is the Texas High School state record that he set at a regional meet this weekend.

The all-time bench press record is 1,075 pounds set by Ryan Kennelly in 2008.  I think if Poursoltani keeps up at his current pace he will break that soon enough.  He denies ever having used steroids, but he managed to improve his personal best lift by more than 100 pounds in a year.
