Stephen Gionta gets hit into Panthers bench, shoved back onto ice

New Jersey Devils forward Stephen Gionta was trying to carry the puck into the Florida Panthers zone during the third period when Dmitry Kulikov had other ideas.  Gionta chipped the puck past Kulikov and tried to jump by him, but unfortunately for Gionta, he got wrecked right into the Panthers bench.  It was a perfectly timed hip-check and the fun for the Panthers wasn’t over yet.

As Gionta jumped over the boards to get back on the ice, T.J. Brennan gave Gionta a shove which threw him off-balance and he went flying on to the ice.  It was sneaky enough that no penalty was called on the play.  Gionta and the Devils got the last laugh though as the Devils won 6-2 and Gionta had one goal and one assist.
