Shawn Matthias scores sick shorthanded goal

Those who work hard often get rewarded, and that is exactly what happened during the Boston Bruins-Florida Panthers game on Thursday night.  Early in the second period the Panthers were killing off a penalty and Bruins defenseman Dougie Hamilton missed a bad pass and the puck squirted out to center ice.  Panthers forward Shawn Matthias out-hustled Hamilton and dove for the loose puck.  He ended up taking Hamilton out, but because he got to the puck first it wasn’t a penalty.  Matthias then stood up and pulled of a slick move to his backhand and buried it past Tuukka Rask.  This was a beauty of a play by Matthias and he should be all over the SportsCenter Top 10.  Unfortunately for the Panthers though, this was the only noteworthy play for them as they lost to the Bruins 4-1.
