Patrick Kane scores own-goal on empty net

This is not the first time something like this has happened and it is every coach and player’s nightmare. The Edmonton Oilers had a delayed penalty coming to them, so the Chicago Blackhawks pulled their goalie for an extra attacker. Patrick Kane was in the corner and didn’t have his head up when he fired a board pass back to the point. Only the defenseman wasn’t there and the puck went all the way down the ice and into the net. Kane knew as soon as he passed the puck that it was going into his net because you can see him put his hands on his helmet. A tough break no doubt, but the Blackhawks won 5-3, so you can guarantee that Kane will receive a lot of ribbing from his teammates.
