Michael Wilbon refers to Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard as “Jimmy Williams”

On Pardon The Interruption on Friday, Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon were asked to talk about the NHL Playoffs and which team, the New York Rangers or Chicago Blackhawks, had a better chance of coming back from a 3-1 series deficit.  Unfortunately, that’s when Wilbon made a pretty huge mistake.  As a Blackhawks fan, you’d figure that Wilbon would know who the Detroit Red Wings goalie is, but Wilbon messed up his name.  Rather than calling him by his name, Jimmy Howard, Wilbon referred to Howard as “Jimmy Williams” about four times in a 30 second clip.  In Wilbon’s defense, he did realize his error, corrected himself and apologized before moving on to the next segment, but this is exactly why ESPN never discusses hockey; they don’t seem to know anything about it.
