Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw was the only one with the eye on the puck and knew he couldn’t high-stick the puck in. So naturally he decided to channel his inner-soccer player and headed the puck into the net. It was an incredibly athletic play but unfortunately didn’t count because you cannot direct or bat the puck into the net with anything but your stick.
Really too bad, because this would have been one helluva winner in double overtime.
