Alex Ovechkin’s horrible backcheck on Rangers game-winning goal

The New York Rangers and Washington Capitals were in a close game with the Rangers ahead 3-2 in the third period when this play happened.  The passing between Ryan Callahan, Derek Stepan and Carl Hagelin here was truly impressive.  The give-and-go passing between Stepan and Hagelin could not have been more perfect.  The best part of this play though is Alexander Ovechkin casually drifting into the picture.  His legs firmly planted to the ice and making no attempt to try and get back and stop Stepan.  You’re the captain of your team and this is the playoffs, you could at least pretend that you are trying to stop the other team.
