Victor Cruz honors 6-year-old shooting victim with message on cleats and gloves

New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz is the perfect idol and role model for people.  He’s humble despite being extremely talented and famous.  I wish more pro athletes would follow his lead and treat his fans the way that he does.

Cruz heard that Jack Pinto, a 6-year-old who was lost in the tragic Connecticut shooting, was a huge fan of Cruz.  To honor him, Cruz decided to honor Pinto by writing on his cleats and gloves, a move that makes me a huge Victor Cruz fan.

The New York Giants, Jets and New England Patriots have all created decals for today’s game for Newtown, Connecticut, and professional basketball players Kevin Durant and LeBron James wrote on their shoes for their basketball games.  I hope that more athletes follow their leads and do something similar.
