Hearing-impaired girl writes letter to Seahawks FB Derrick Coleman

Hearing-Impaired Letter In lieu of all the repetitive media coverage leading up to the Super Bowl, here is something that will not get nearly enough attention. Last week, Duracell released a powerful commercial featuring hearing-impaired Seattle Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman, which can be seen here: After seeing that ad with her twin sister, Riley Kovalcik, a 9-year-old hearing impaired girl from New Jersey, wrote the letter in the above picture. Here’s what it says:

Dear my insperation Derrick Coleman, I know how you feel. I also have hearing aids. Just try your best. I have faif in you Derrick good Job on January 20th game. Go seattle seahalwks! here are things we have in comen: I where two hearing aids. I love sports. other things are I’m a identical twin and my twin where’s on hearing aid too!

To make this heart warming moment even better, Coleman took time out of his day to write Riley a touching response. It’s things like this that make you want to root for the Seahawks and it’s really a shame that Richard Sherman is getting more attention by the mainstream media than this. [Kissing Suzy Kolber]
