Aldon Smith was in a serious car accident Friday but played in SNF game

Friday night before the San Francisco 49ers Sunday night game against the Detroit Lions, 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith was a passenger in a serious car accident. According to the report, the driver swerved to avoid a deer and ended up in a dirt embankment.  The driver is reported to have a broken back, while Smith only had a cut above his eye that required stitches.  Alcohol did not play a part in the accident, and Smith ended up playing every defensive snap on Sunday night and finished with seven tackles and one sack.

Earlier this Summer, Smith hosted a party on June 30th where two people were shot and Smith ended up getting stabbed.  Smith also received a DUI in Miami Beach in January.  Smith has a bright future on the field, but he has some work to do off the field.  While he is only 22 years old, he may need to mature a bit faster to stay out of trouble.
