LeBron James Named NBA’s Best Player In SI’s Ranking

LeBron James took home the title in Sports Illustrated’s Top 100 NBA Players ranking. The 29-year-old, who signed a two-year deal to return to his home state and play, beat out Kevin Durant, last season’s NBA MVP, for the top spot.

Here’s what Sports Illustrated wrote about naming James their top player:

It should come as no surprise to see James’ name on top of the SI.com Top 100 once again. There are, and were, debates to be had about spots 3 through 100, but both James and Durant slid into their respective spots without so much as a whisper.

The Clippers’ Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook of the Thunder and the Spurs’ Tim Duncan rounded out the top 5.
