LeBron James On Derrick Rose’s Protest T-Shirt: “I Loved It, I’m Looking For One”

Derrick Rose made a huge statement over the weekend when he wore an ‘I Can’t Breathe’ t-shirt, a tribute to Eric Garner, in the warmups of the Bulls-Warriors game. Many have lauded Rose for the protest, including LeBron James.

“It’s spectacular,” James said of Rose’s show of solidarity, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “I loved it. I’m looking for one.”

The ‘I Can’t Breathe’ shirt is a reference to Eric Garner’s final words. Garner, a New York man, was killed on July 17th after a NYPD police officer placed him in a chokehold while he was being arrested for selling cigarettes.  If you haven’t already seen the video of the nearly 8-minute chokehold by the officer on Garner, you can watch it here. (Warning: Very Disturbing).
