ESPN, TNT Announce New TV Deal With The NBA

The NBA announced Monday morning that a new TV deal has been reached with ESPN and TNT. Reports are that the deal will be for 9-years, starting during the 2016-17 season, and be for roughly $24 billion dollars.

Some of the highlights of the new deal:

• An established framework for ESPN and the league to negotiate the launch of a new “over-the-top” content offering on the mobile platform. Details will be announced at a later date;

• 10 additional regular-season games for ESPN or ABC, bringing the regular-season total to 100;

• 10 more exclusive regular-season windows;

• TNT will televise 12 additional games each season (up from 52)

• TNT will air an award show at the end of the season

ESPN and TNT were able to keep FOX Sports, which was attempting to get NBA games on their network, out of the deal.
