Even if you aren’t a Derrick Rose fan, you have to tip your cap for the statement he made with the shirt he wore before Saturday’s prime-time Warriors-Bulls game. Rose wore a “I Can’t Breathe” T-shirt in the pregame warm-ups, a reference to Eric Garner’s final words. Garner, a New York man, was killed on July 17th after a NYPD police officer placed him in a chokehold while he was being arrested for selling individual cigarettes. If you haven’t already seen the video of the nearly 8-minute chokehold by the officer on Garner, you can watch it here. (Warning: Very Disturbing).
