Doug Fister hit in the head by line drive

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Doug Fister was drilled in the head by Gregor Blanco during Game 2 of the World Series.  The Tigers staff asked Fister a few questions about the game before sending him back in. Fister managed to retire the next twelve batters after the liner to his head.

Even though Fister had a tremendous outing (6 IP, 4H, 1BB, 1ER), he was out- dueled by Giants’ Madison Bumgarner (7 IP, 2H, 2BB, 0ER) and was credited with the loss. The Giants went on to win 2-0 and are two games away from winning the World Series.
