David Cone on Ichiro’s bat: ‘Suzuki with the chopstick’

New York Yankees TV analyst David Cone said something that I’m sure he wishes he could take back.

During the 11th inning, Suzuki reached for a pitch and hit a grounder to the shortstop. Cone responded by saying, “probably a ball, but Suzuki with the chopstick.”

Ichiro is a talented ballplayer and that’s more important to talk about than his nationality. This was a thoughtless comment by Cone.
