QMJHL player loses part of finger on blocked shot, has it reattached

Jason Fuchs of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the QMJHL lost the tip of his finger on Saturday when blocking a shot.

Fuchs was in the shooting lane when the shot hit him square in the hand. Fuchs immediately knew something was wrong and ripped off his gloves and went to the bench. Fortunately for Fuchs, the other part of his finger was found in his glove and it was reattached at the hospital.

“He shouted. No one knew what to do,” Rouyn-Noranda coach Gilles Bouchard said to TVA Sports after the game. “We were looking for pieces of his finger.”

Definitely a scary moment for the young player.
