Nothing like starting the year off with what is sure to be a Sportscenter Not Top 10 play. Hitting the ball only 150 yards has to be pretty embarrassing for an elite golfer like Tiger Woods. He knew it was bad as soon as he hit it, and was clearly frustrated after, something viewers have gotten used to seeing while watching Tiger over the past few years. Tiger started the first round of the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship on #10, so while this drive happened on #1, it was the start of his 10th hole.
Tiger is playing the first two rounds with Rory McIlroy as his partner, presumably because of Rory’s new deal with Nike, and they are currently the #1 and #2 ranked players in the world. Despite this drive, Tiger finished with an even par 72, while Rory shot a +3 75. Hopefully tomorrow will be better for the two superstars.
Update: Both Tiger Woods and Rory Mcllroy miss the cut.
