Website Thinks This WR Will Have Huge Season With New OC Josh Gattis

247sports highlighted 10 players who will benefit from new coaches. With Josh Gattis now at OC, they think the junior-to-be will have a huge season:

New coach: Offensive coordinator Josh Gattis

Most Michigan fans probably look at Gattis’ hire in the long-term lens of bringing a different voice to the offense, and, perhaps, a different personality in terms of scheme. But for the purpose of Michigan’s wide receivers, they should be thrilled based on Gattis’ long history of development. That started way back at Western Michigan in 2011 when he coached Jordan White to All-American status. At Vanderbilt the next two years he coached Jordan Matthews to two-time All-American accolades. His next stop at Penn State saw Chris Godwin, DaeSean Hamilton and Juwan Johnson develop into standouts. And if you’re wondering what the post-Gattis effect is like, check the stats of Penn State’s wideouts last year: Not. Good. All Gattis did in one year at Alabama is help make Jerry Jeudy a Biletnikoff Award winner. He also helped Jaylen Waddle to True Freshman All-American honors.

From a Michigan perspective, nobody stands to gain more from Gattis’ tutelage than Peoples-Jones. The former five-star made a leap as a sophomore, reeling in 47 catches for 612 yards and eight touchdowns. Under Gattis’ direction and with a bit more wide open of an offense, Peoples-Jones could become Michigan’s first 1,000-yard receiver since 2013.
