When a fumble goes out of the back of the end zone it counts as a turnover. It’s one of the more baffling rules in football and it certainly cost Houston on Thursday night. The Houston Cougars were down 17-12 with 24 seconds remaining when backup QB Greg Ward Jr. dove for the end zone. Unfortunately, the ball came out before he crossed the goal line and went out the back of the end zone. Very tough way to lose a game.
