According to Phil Steele, Michigan has the third toughest schedule of any football program next season. As Michael Spath documented in this tweet, it’s not the first time a team has had such a tough road schedule and made it to the CFB Playoff.
Michigan will likely have to play three Top 25 teams on the road this year (ND, MSU, OSU). Only 4 of the 16 playoff participants so far have had to play three road games against Top 25 competition. The average for playoff teams is 1.9.
