To honor the victims of the Super Storm Sandy, the Rutgers football team will be sporting special helmets and uniforms during the team’s annual spring game. Players will wear uniforms that have the names of 90 different towns that were affected by the storm last year. Sports often serve as a nice escape for those that are involved in tragic situations, and it’s nice to see the program reach out in any way they can. The logo on the helmet has been on a t-shirt that has been sold for over a year now and it has generated a lot of money.
.@RUAthletics and Scarlet Fever sold almost $148,000 worth of R Strong t-shirts since the fall of 2012. All proceeds to @Sandynjrelief.
