Normally rivalry games with trophies on the line have been around for a long time. Whether it’s The Egg Bowl, The Little Brown Jug, The Battle For The Golden Boot, The Commander-In-Chiefs Trophy, etc, there is history to it. Since Nebraska joined the Big Ten and left their Big 12 rivals behind, they’ve been looking for a new rivalry and they landed on Wisconsin. Now the two will meet each year for the Freedom Trophy and while it’s a solid idea for a trophy, I don’t support the idea of manufacturing a rivalry.
