Ranked as the top CB in the 2026 class, Davon Baxter, a five-star DB out of California, is down to five schools and set to announce in August:
As he shared with On3, Michigan and Oregon are the two schools sticking out most.
“I’d say Michigan and Oregon.”
On Michigan: “Michigan, I’d say just the fact that who they are, they’re going to preach that to you every day, it’s going to show up in their work,” Benjamin said about the Wolverines. “I love the fact that Michigan has great people in the building. A new head coach, great dude, and he obviously cares for this football stuff. But at the end of the day, he’s going to make sure you’re taken care of off the field. You can walk around with that Michigan degree anywhere in life and be successful with it. So, really, I love the care that they’ve got on and off the field.”
On Oregon: “I can see myself enjoying really just being there,” he said about Oregon. “Of course, everybody’s going to make it seem like it’s flashy for the uniforms and all that but as far as me, it’s a place that you can go with no distractions. It’s a place where you can be yourself off the field, have great people around you that’s going to push you every day at practice, and, like I said, the coaching stability up there. It’s been the same people I’ve been talking to ever since my freshman year.”
