Rumblings: Notre Dame Has Its Eye On Joining Big Ten

The Big Ten negotiated a blockbuster deal with FOX Sports that would give the network half of the Big Ten’s tier 1 games for $250 million per year.

With the B1G’s new TV deal, and each school in the conference likely to get a very sizable check, more and more schools sound to be interested in joining the conference.

One of them is Notre Dame, according to FOX Sports’ Tim Brando, who tweeted the following Tuesday regarding the ACC pushing for its own network with ESPN:

Bluevod, a former insider on The Wolverine.com message board, mentioned several other possible schools – Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Florida State, Oklahoma – that potentially could have its eye on the Big Ten too:

The Irish plan to join the Big Ten in hockey starting in 2017-18.

We’ll just have to wait and see how this all plays out….
