Michigan Tabbed As 5th Best Odds To Win 2018 Title

The Las Vegas Superbook updated their odds for the national title for the 2018-19 season. Coming in at 12/1 and with the fifth best odds (behind Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Georgia), sit the Wolverines. Here’s what Brad Crawford of 247sports thinks about Michigan’s odds:

You’ll have to feel strongly about the Wolverines here to pick Michigan at 12/1 considering Jim Harbaugh’s track record vs. elite Big Ten rivals and the lack of schedule favorability this season. Even if Shea Patterson is the answer to the team’s inconsistencies at quarterback, Michigan will have to get through at least four out of five games this fall vs. Top 15 teams to win the division then beat another quality opponent in Indianapolis. Best-case scenario for the Wolverines would be to win at Notre Dame in the opener, lose once the rest of the way and not make the Big Ten Championship Game. Then at 11-1, Michigan would be a sexy at-large option considering the overall strength of the slate. But overall, the schedule is simply too difficult to get anything of value here at 12/1. Oddsmakers still love Michigan for some reason.
