Marcus Mariota had his helmet ripped by Texas player, somehow wasn’t a penalty

Oregon’s Marcus Mariota proved why he’ll be the early 2014 Heisman favorite during Monday’s Alamo Bowl against Texas. The redshirt sophomore, who announced his return to Oregon next season, finished the game with 133-yards rushing and 253 passing. Mariota’s stats could have been even more impressive had the refs not missed this blatant face-mask penalty on a Texas player on a third-down in the red-zone. Oregon would settle for a field-goal on the play, and ended up winning 30-7, so it didn’t really matter in the end.
