Kentucky sends football recruit Matt Elam 182 letters in single day

The University of Kentucky is off to a hot start under new head coach Mark Stoops for the 2014 recruiting class. Ranked in the top 10 of 247sports team rankings, one of the Wildcat’s top remaining targets, Matt Elam, is getting his share of attention.

Elam, a 6’6”, 360-pound, defensive tackle out of John Hardin High School in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, received 182 letters in a single day from Kentucky’s coaching staff. This is certainly not the first time we’ve seen this recruiting tactic. Back in February, an Ole Miss recruit was sent 54 hand written letters in a single day. Similarly, Kentucky commit, Drew Barker, was sent 115 letters in a single day in March (see below). Kentucky’s full court letter press worked on Barker, will it work for Elam?
