The Wolverines are still looking to bolster their offensive line for next season and the spring portal officially opens today. Joe Cotton, South Dakota’s starting left tackle who was an all-conference player in 2024, has put his name in today.
South Dakota left tackle Joe Cotton has heard from 20 Power 4 schools since announcing plans to enter the transfer portal, his agents @SWiltfong_ and I.
The 6-foot-7, 315-pound Cotton was all-conference in 2024 and an FCS Freshman All-American in 2023.https://t.co/wMrfFrcNOy pic.twitter.com/scMOm0IbGx

Against Wisconsin:
Former South Dakota LT Joe Cotton (@Joseph_Cotton1 ) is currently in the portal and gaining heavy interest.
A starter since his freshman year, Cotton is a good athlete who displays a strong anchor and terrific hand placement. #TransferPortal pic.twitter.com/21FKAYNOh3

Michigan could end up starting Evan Link at LT once again this season but there are other options like freshman OT Andrew Babalola and others.
Cotton does have several visits lined up:
South Dakota State OT Joe Cotton has emerged as one of the most popular names in the transfer portal.
His agency @QCSports tells @mzenitz and I he’s set Cincinnati and Wisconsin visits.
But many teams are reaching out to the portal’s top available OT.https://t.co/S2RkBunJaP pic.twitter.com/WaKTAzrrhw
