Johnny Manziel sent home/leaves Manning Passing Academy Camp

Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel has had a tumultuous offseason since football ended and it appears the fun/antics have not ended yet.  According to Rumors and Rants, Manziel was out late partying on Friday night and showed up late to meetings on Saturday.

Our source, who wishes to remain anonymous because of his connection to the camp, gave us the scoop after Manziel showed up tardy Saturday afternoon after being out on the town Friday night. The Texas A&M star reportedly enjoyed himself a little too much Friday night and rolled back into the camp at Nicholls State University some time around noon Saturday before getting the boot.

Manziel was supposed to participate in the “Air It Out” competition along with other top collegiate passers Saturday evening. He didn’t. Camp officials told local media that Manziel “is sick” and was no longer at the camp. But our source claims he was kicked out at the behest of Manning paterfamiliasArchie.

According to ESPN, the reports that he was sent home for being out late are inaccurate.  A statement from the Academy was issued and Peyton Manning commented on meeting Manziel.

“Johnny Manziel did participate in some activities in the 2013 Manning Passing Academy as a college counselor/coach,” the statement said. “After missing and being late for practice assignments, Johnny explained that he had been feeling ill. Consequently, we agreed that it was in everyone’s best interest for him to go home a day early.”

It was Manziel’s first appearance as college coach/counselor at the passing academy after he had been a camper twice during his high school years. “I enjoyed meeting Johnny,” said Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning  “I can remember a 20-year-old Eli [Manning] missing a meeting and catching some flak. We always have counselors who leave early. Johnny was great with the campers for the time he was here. He had to leave early. I wish him the best and I want him to come back as a counselor next year.”

Manziel’s father told Kate Hairopoulos of the Dallas Morning News that he came home because of dehydration.

Dehydration sounds a lot like Hangover to me, but I could be wrong.  I can only imagine the questions that Manziel will be getting a majority of the questions at the SEC media day, especially since people on Twitter are saying that he rallied and was out on Saturday night.

Never a dull moment in the life of Johnny Football.  It will be interesting to see if he will keep a lower profile once he gets to the NFL; something tells me that he won’t though.
