Fordham football team unveils special jerseys to honor 9/11 victims

The Liberty Cup is a game between Fordham and Columbia, two of the Division 1 schools in New York City.  Both schools suffered losses during the 9/11 attacks (36 for Fordham, 43 for Columbia) and thus they came up with the Liberty Cup to honor the victims.  Fordham unveiled these special jerseys for this Saturday’s game and they are absolutely fantastic.  Everything about these uniforms is flat out perfect and the two greatest parts are clearly the number color scheme and the name plates.

From the Fordham Athletics website:

The uniform numbers will feature the stars and stripes of the American flag as will the Block F decal on the helmet. On the back, jerseys will featureNYPD, FDNY or PAPD to honor the brave members of those departments who perished on 9/11 and those who bravely worked at Ground Zero and continue to protect us today.

Whoever came up with these uniforms deserves a raise.
