A coach tells recruit Da’Shawn Hand he can meet Michael Jackson

There have been some crazy things in the world of recruiting that have gone on, but having a coach promise the #1 recruit in the country, Defensive End Da’Shawn Hand, that he could meet Michael Jackson is truly bizarre.

In an interview with Bruce Feldman, Hand discussed the incident:

I would really love to know whether it was a head coach or an assistant coach that told Hand that, but whoever it was blew any chance his school had at Hand.  Hand has done a good job telling schools that he’s not interested in not to waste their time recruiting him, and I’m guessing that this school was out of the running fairly early.
