Arizona State LB Carl Bradford cleans 400 pounds

Arizona State linebacker Carl Bradford is a workout warrior.  On Thursday a video of him cleaning 400 pounds appeared on YouTube and it is impressive.  His freak athleticism is not a secret though, he had 11.5 sacks last year and Bruce Feldman listed him as one of the 20 craziest athletes in college football.

Arizona State’s director of strength and conditioning Shawn Griswold had this to say about Bradford cleaning 400 pounds.

“I’ve been doing this since 1996, and that’s only the second guy I’ve seen do it.  The other guy I saw do it — Lamar Myles from Louisville — I was an assistant there that year, so really Carl’s the first guy I’ve ever had do an actual 400-pound clean. You could ask anybody in the country, to actually have video of it and the technique he used to do it, there may be a hand full of guys who can do it, maybe. And they’re more than likely bigger guys, more linemen-type than linebackers.”
