Amazon crowns Notre Dame as National Champions in email to customers

Nothing like getting a little ahead of yourself here.  I’m sure this email was meant to go out later tonight if the Fighting Irish win, but it appears someone at Amazon jumped the gun.  I wonder if they sent out a similar email to fans that had shown an interest in Alabama merchandise.

Update: ESPN’s Darren Rovell is reporting that the email was sent to fans of both teams, and Amazon has issued the following apology:

“Well, this is really embarrassing….we completely fumbled our congratulation (sic) email for tonight’s game,” the apology said. “We admit that we can’t tell the future. We congratulate Alabama and Notre Dame for making it to the NCAA Football National Championship. We hope you enjoy the game.”
