21 Two-Stars, 24 Three-Stars Playing In The Pro Bowl This Year

J.J. Watt

Rivals did a breakdown of their rankings of the players that have made the Pro Bowl this year and found that there are 21 two-stars and 24 three-stars playing in the game. This is an indication of Long-Term Athlete Development, where players hit their stride later in on in life. And it is also a bit lopsided because there are way more two-stars and three-stars year in and year out than five or four-stars. That being said, maybe don’t worry so much the next time your team picks up a three-star instead of a five-star. You never know what you’re going to get.

From Rivals:

There are 21 two-stars and 24 three-stars in this year’s Pro Bowl. The diminutive Darren Sproles (5-foot-7, 170 pounds) is the only prospect with a Rivals.com football profile who failed to receive a star rating. Two-stars includeJ.J. Watt, Jordy Nelson, Aqib Talib, Emmanuel Sanders and Le’Veon Bell.
