If you think you’ve ever been nervous watching a sporting event, just imagine how this guy feels. Derek Stevens, a Michigan grad and Casino owner in Las Vegas, bet $20,000 on Michigan State with 50-to-1 odds for a chance at $1,000,000.
Stevens will need the Spartans to top Duke in the semi-finals and then beat the winner of the Wisconsin/Kentucky game in the championship game. Michigan State is currently a five-point underdog against Duke.
“If I win, I’ll give some bonus money to my employees,” Stevens told ESPN’s Darren Rovell. “I also want to give some money to the (Jerry) Tarkanian Basketball Academy, and the rest I will re-invest in my properties.”
