Toledo Mud Hens Turning Baseball Diamond Into Putt-Putt Course

The Toledo Mud Hens will be turning their baseball diamond into a putt-putt golf course this fall. Before their field gets turned into a hockey rink for Walleye Winterfest, it will become an 18-hole miniature golf course and will be open to the public September 25-28.

According to the Toledo Mud Hens website:

“I always thought it would be interesting to see a natural grass putt-putt course,” says Jake Tyler, Sports Turf Manager. “The timing is perfect to create this once in a lifetime opportunity for our community.”

The Links at Fifth Third Field will be flat with no rolling hills and slopes, but it will be challenging. The first nine holes will have a lot of angles, dog legs, and sand traps. The back nine gets confusing when the fairway of 14 and 15 intersect each other and hole 17 may be the hardest because it finishes up on top of the pitcher’s mound.”

It will cost $15 to play and a portion will go to area charities and participants will also receive a souvenir “Links at Fifth Third Field” golf ball.
