Ernest Gulbis smashes racquet during Australian Open

If you bet that Ernest Gulbis would be the first to smash his racquet at the Australian Open, then congrats, you watch enough tennis to know that it was bound to happen. The often wild Gulbis had a volley shot during the second set of Monday’s opening round of the Australian Open that sailed on him and gave his opponent, Juan Monaco, a break point.  Gulbis then smashed his racquet into the ground. He would end up winning that set three points later, and beat Monaco, 1-6 6-4 7-6 (4) 6-2.
