USA was down 4-3 to Russia at the U-20 World Junior Tournament with their goalie pulled when defenseman Matt Grzelcyk lost the puck, fell down and Russian forward Pavel Buchnevich buried it into the empty netter. That wasn’t enough for Buchnevich who skated by the USA bench and taunting the team. US forward Ryan Hartman wasn’t having any of it and managed to stick Buchnevich in the face with a high-stick. Short after, Russian forward Eduard Gimatov and a coach were seen taunting the US bench, with the coach making a fellatio-type gesture. I don’t condone what Hartman did, but I probably would have done the same thing in a similar situation.
