On Saturday, 33 current and former New England Patriots players, coaches and cheerleaders participated in a “Football for You” free youth football clinic in Newtown, Connecticut.
Owner Robert Kraft to the Connecticut Post, “As a part of the New England community, I think all of us were devastated when we saw what happened here and if it can happen in the town of Newtown, it could happen in any city or town in America.”
More than 500 children registered for the event prior to Saturday, and on Saturday, even more showed up and registered for the event that day. It was a great event put on by a great organization helping out a community that desperately needed something positive. The best part? The Patriots didn’t discuss doing the event with the media until after the event had happened.
