Joffrey Lupul scores game-winning goal on end-to-end rush

The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Carolina Hurricanes were tied late in the third period when Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul decided to take matters into his own hands.  Lupul turned on the jets and skated by the Hurricanes in the neutral zone, who were making a bad change, and then right around Joe Corvo and tucked the puck far side past Justin Peters.  Lupul almost didn’t score off the initial shot but was able to reach back and tap in the puck before Peters could cover it.

Lupul has been a key player for the Maple Leafs, when healthy and not suspended, and his play has been paramount to their success.  The Maple Leafs managed to add two empty net goals and the final score of 6-3 was much more lopsided than the game actually was.
