ESPN First Take Graphic wonders if Tim Tebow could have taken 49ers to Super Bowl

If you didn’t realize it before, ESPN will do just about anything to talk about Tim Tebow.  HIs name drives up ratings, and so they work to bring him into the conversation any way that they can.  Even if it means being completely ridiculous and discussing “The Tebow Effect” and the idea that he could have led the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl running the offense that Colin Kaepernick is running.

You can see Skip Bayless’ comment on the bottom part of the photo, “If Tebow could run the spread option, he’d be very successful.”  Bayless is unequivocally in Tebow’s corner no matter what happens.  But what he fails to realize is that Colin Kaepernick is bigger, faster, and has an absolutely rocket arm.  On top of that, he is extremely accurate and rarely turns the ball over.

During the regular season, Kaepernick had a 62.3% completion percentage with only 3 interceptions and 2 fumbles.  In the playoffs Kaepernick has raised his play with a 63.5% completion percentage, 1 interception and a 105.9 quarterback rating; second only to Joe Flacco.  This doesn’t even include the fact that against the Green Bay Packers he set the record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in a postseason game with 163 yards.

It’s really a shame that instead of praising Colin Kaepernick and his play, that ESPN First Take went for the headline grabber and discussed whether or not Tebow could have taken the 49ers to the Super Bowl.
