Notre Dame Fighting Irish to add nameplates to jerseys for National Championship Game

This isn’t the first time that Notre Dame has added nameplates to their jerseys for a football game.  In fact, when they add them for the National Championship game against Alabama on January 7th, 2013 in Miami, it will be the fourth time they have added them to their jerseys.

According to ESPN.com, “The Irish had names on their away jerseys in the 2010 Sun Bowl win over Miami and on their home attire last year in the Champs Sports Bowl loss to Florida State.”

No mention of when the fourth time was, but it’s safe to assume that it wasn’t recently.  I’m sure many Notre Dame fans won’t be thrilled with the addition of the nameplates, but if the Fighting Irish pull out the win, they won’t have anything to complain about.
