Lathrup Village Police release video of Ndamukong Suh’s traffic stop

Ever since his second year in the league, things have not gone as planned for Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.  He has showed discipline issues on and off the field, particularly when he is behind the wheel of a car.  When watching the video, you’ll know which one is his, it’s the Black Range Rover that flies in front of a cop car in a lane that is ending.

During the November 15th traffic stop, the police officer tells Suh that he “almost caused a crash,” while Suh tries to say that he was just trying to merge.  Unfortunately for Suh, passing in the right lane is illegal in Michigan, and when the officer asks why he was driving so fast, Suh continues to say he was just trying to merge.

The officer decides to cut Suh a break and cites him for failure to use due care and caution and issues him a warning for careless driving.  This only adds two points to Suh’s license and is a $130 fine.  Thankfully it’s not more than that for Suh since he was ordered to pay $30,000 for his accidental kick to Matt Schaub’s groin area.

When asked about the incident, Head Coach Jim Schwartz told reporters, “You know, honestly, I think it would be best for every single player in the NFL to have a driver.”  He’s not wrong, plenty of players get in trouble behind the wheel and it could all be prevented.  Hopefully Suh will learn from all of his run-ins with the police.
